WHICH GRADING FOR WHICH VALUES ?

Finally, what do we search for in a stone, apart from the « everlasting beauty » of Diamond !? Maximal profit.
This one is based on simple factors, which are essential to master in order for you to make sensible and rewarding decisions.
But knowing how to grade and sort stones with characteristics on the fringe between two qualities, in a manner that best favors your interests, is an art. And that is with the mastery of this art that I gain approval for my own grading terms by the gemologist of the opposite part, which usually creates a base for further negotiations.
A good knowledge of planning, grading, sorting, valuation and pricing of rough and polished Diamonds is providing you with the best quality control you could imagine. One of the essential points for the effective management of your projects.
It is often said in the industry that a Diamond is permanently on diet. And our job as gemologists is to make certain that this diet will never be too strict. Otherwise would it be really worth investing in some of these stones ?
In other words, any attempt to acquire a parcel of Diamonds, without exception, must be a coherent blend of the following factors : carat weight, color, shape or cut and clarity according to your means and needs.
The planning and marking, grading and sorting of Diamonds on the scale of the gem trade is a normalized science but will always be full of subjectivity. If seven gemologists are assembled together in a room to grade the same Diamond, the result will be many different enlightened opinions on its characteristics and grades.
