I am Jean-Xavier Dubois, call me Xavier.
I was awarded a diploma of gemology in rough and polished Diamonds by the GIA (Gemological Institute of America) in London, and by the HODTS (Harry Oppenheimer’s Diamond Training School) in Johannesburg.
Some years ago, I began to work in the Diamond industry by accident, through relations and close friends during repeated journeys to the “Cradle of the industry” in South Africa. Between Europe and South Africa, these close relations finally brought me to this vocation of an expert and trader in Diamonds.
I was hooked slightly out of curiosity and soon I could not go without it. Expressing my appreciation for this exceptional stone, sharing it with you through my expertise, and for you to benefit from this excites me very much. I spend my life following this passion for Diamonds and when this involves on top the international world of business, what else can I ask for ?
I have spent a lot of time between traveling and meeting people, but most of all I have dispensed a great amount of resources developing the adequate relations in the industry. South Africa, The Democratic Republic of the Congo, Angola, Equatorial Guinea, The United Arab Emirates, India, Belgium, Switzerland, The United Kingdom, France, and the United States of America are, among others, the sources of my relations and of the main players in my network.
I have worked as an independent trader of polished stones from South Africa to private buyers locally and in Europe, in the import-export. I have spent time close to points of supply in rough Diamonds, and in the field, I've collaborated on the operations of a semi-industrialized alluvial mine in Tshikapa, in The Democratic Republic of the Congo. My experience, with an acute insight into the general industry, supported by organized well-placed relations, has allowed me to successfully develop the businesses of professionals, members of Diamond Bourses in locations such as Hatton Garden in London. In Paris, my proficiency and professionalism brought me to act as an expert for jewelers established in France for almost half a century.
In this capacity, today my Diamond expertise can be applied to any discipline ; it covers the whole spectrum of the industry. Whatever your main activity is, my competences will always be able to thoroughly satisfy all your needs.
Generally speaking, from its very beginning, my professional career has been international. Apart from Diamond expertise, it encompasses all areas of selling, promotion and representation (marketing), creating visual commercials concepts (communication), work organization and production.
To have worked in different countries, with many people and to have rubbed shoulders with various cultures gives me the advantage of a tactful approach to business in all circumstances. My experience have allowed me to gain conscientiousness into delivering the best solution for all involved where challenges are met on a regular basis, having to find ways to cope with tough conditions has served me well.
I am endowed with an excellent sense of organization and communication skills, a work ethic and a great adaptability. You have the option of assigning me to your projects, as an individual or as part of a team. My natural enthusiasm, together with my innate sense of human relations, will allow me to have an immediate and valuable impact at the heart of your business.
I have observed that, in Africa, and even more so, in the French-speaking part of the industry, my native French language supported by my Western Europe culture, easily facilitates access, the implementation of exchanges, and the stability of progress. I am currently resident in Paris - France. I am holder of a European French passport with a South African Business Visa.
